Games in the real world or what you learn while gaming!

in gaming •  7 years ago

Whether gaming has a positive or a negative educational influenced is a question many have tried to answer. Sometimes you can read that games may be making you more aggressive. But most studies tend to agree that the conclusions are at the very least inconclusive. But can you learn something useful in games?

This was so clear and even entertaining to watch while listening to your well researched information. They may very well be educating many in dealing with youths, and old-timers, gaming... Mentioning the 21 hour apex point was very good to learn about!

Thanks a lot for it all! Namaste :)

Hello Eric,

I'm glad you liked the video and hope you'll come in the future for more gaming content ;)

I personally am WAY over the 28 hour limit when it gets unhealthy, though I'm unsure how I fit in as it is my job to play games.

I greatly suspect the nature of the lighting in your screen plays a fundamental role in the effect one is subjected during gaming. Not only that, the music played as well as the rhythmics of it has either beneficial or harmful effects as wells... I wonder if the studies you came across mentioned that or took it into considerations while studying the cerebral effects of gaming on the spot as well as on a long term basis?

Namaste :)

From what I remember the studies I read didn't take a look at that, but I'd suspect those things would have a more of an short-term effect if any.

My experience shows me that these have an effect and that the long-term phenomenon rising from there often find results in the infringement of our melatonin output which allows us to sleep. Further more, specific rhythms and harmonies do have a very specific effect on the nervous system and the findings relating to it are used today for multiple medical/healing uses as well as for weaponized intent. Sound can bind or break things, especially molecules and rhythms are used to synch or do the exact opposite when it comes to, for instance, binding our genetic heritage.

Namaste :)

Well, when it comes to melatonin production, I'd say that is more because of the blue light monitors put out, not because of games.

The rest, I have no clue and I will not even try to claim I have, but sounds interseting and might be worth a future video ;)

Great topic. We posted an article on our website a while back talking about how Sim Racing can improve your driving in real world scenarios:

https://www.adaptnetwork.com/sports/how-sim-racing-can-make-you-better-driver-on-off-track/

that was a cool article man, really liked it. Though I do hope I never get into a situation like that.

I like your post. And do not forget to upvote @sibeut

I have done research papers on the benefits of gaming. It is an interactive environment that is capable of giving our brain data to store to shape us. Gaming increases Mental Agility, Increased Temporal Spatial Reasoning, Critical Thinking, and even Spell Casting.

Seriously though. It depends on the individual. One player can sit and immerse themselves into the screen. A couple of my brothers are capable of this. I however can only see it as a piece of technology manipulating electrical current.

Love the post!
