Lately, it's getting overrated. Until I played some recent installments.

Now, I am like.

I agree with you bro!

So what made me change my mind? Here is sort of comparison where I am saying what I have held for so long. Just kidding, I just felt like writing this today.

I expected that the next installments would be better than that, it's like a general assumption that newer things are bound to be better than previous ones.

But, oh boy was I wrong (ok, not entirely!)

Here are some things, that no mercy does better than recent installments.

Glitches

No mercy graphics are nothing compared to modern games, but when you compare the glitches between these two. No mercy was far superior. I played for months, didn't encountered a single glitch. Meanwhile, modern games have a lots of it.

Immersiveness

I can't tell you, how much those mini games in submissions and royal rumble matches pisses me off. These things take away whole immersiveness.

Check some videos of no mercy royal rumble. Eliminations are unexpected that's what it makes it fun.

I remember, these royal rumble matches going for hours. Hell lot of fun with multiplayer.

Unlockable characters popping up in royal rumble match. It's just as exciting as when your favorite super star makes surprise entrance in real life.

Match tweaks:

I remember you could do a falls anywhere royal rumble when you have to eliminate your opponent by pin and the fight could end up anywhere all over the arena and backstage that was crazy, but very good.

These some match tweaks makes it so good. It's a video game don't make it too realistic. We have enough of realistic real life, thanks.

Simplicity:

Game was programmed fairly simple, have simple mechanics. If you play you will understand.

Unexpected kickouts:

I might be on minority in this one. But I loved that button mashing when getting pinned. When you eat two finishers and do exorcist button mashing and you kick out, man that feeling was on top of the world.

Same was case with wwe day of reckoning. Which had similar play style to no mercy. Just wish it had elimination chamber :(

Human mind loves unexpected, put more unexpected things rather than big heads.
