There are several great ARPGs you can play right now like Path of Exile, Diablo 3, Inquisitor: Martyr, some early access ones like Wolcen and Last Epoch, among the best ones is certainly Grim Dawn. Forgotten Gods is the 2nd expansion for Grim Dawn that will take the players on another journey through monster infested lands where cranky old gods started to awaken and create havoc, your goal is to slay them for good, as to be expected from this type of games. Slaying and looting is the name of the game.

Big part of every ARPG game is the class system, this game has a special dual class system where you mix 8 base classes together to create different class combinations. Oathkeeper is a brand new class for this expansion that mixes shield combat with some potent spells creating one of the most fun classes this game can offer, you can then combine Oathkeeper with Demolitionist class augmenting your fire attack with some cool explosive skills, or you can mix the class with Soldier class further augmenting shield style armored combat. Theorycrafting and playing with all possible combinations is one of the best aspects of Grim Dawn which brings it to almost endless replayability.

New areas look great and offer something new to explore, there are some huge new enemies you will slay and new boss battles are certainly raising the stakes way more than before. There is a ton of new loot you can find making your builds stronger than ever. It is a content packed expansion than deepens the base experience even more than before, but the graphics and animations do feel a little bit outdated in 2019. Other than slightly outdated graphics there is nothing bad to be said about the game. With the latest expansion Grim Dawn will definitely stay at Mount Olypmus of great ARPG games as a long time standing champion. Score: 84/100!

Although I'm not really a huge fan of the genre, I do like Van Helsing! I think the story and characters there are much better than what is normally found in these games.

Neocore games Van Helsing is great, that company knows how to create a decent ARPG, fairly new Inquisitor: Martyr, wh40k ARPG from the same company is awesome.

Wow... They also made a 40k game? I really have to check that out!

I've been Martyr since it's release one year ago, soon new patch is coming out that will radically improve the game. They call it an "ARPG" patch, meaning it will speed up the game like a true ARPG, right now the game is kinda slow paced.

Thanks for this post, I think I will check it out.... Do I have to play the first part because of the storyline or can I dive in this part strait away?

It is best to experience the whole package. You have the base game, Ashes of Malmouth and Forgotten Gods.
