Happy new year steemers! I hope we will have a great year ahead of us here on the best platform ever created. 2017 will be big for cryptocurrencies with more users coming in like never before. Gaming world will also thrive, it is an industry like no other and I'm sure there will be so many innovations for us to participate in. There are a lot of games to be excited about in 2017 and here is a quick list of my most anticipated games that I could think of. What are your most anticipated games of 2017?
Spellforce 3
Easily one of the most underrated game series is making a comeback and boy oh boy, this third game in the series looks awesome. It is a hybrid game between RPG and RTS with multiple playable factions. My body is ready but my hardware is not, I'll have to buy new components for this game.
Torment: Tides of Numenera
Will this game be a treat or what! Tides of Numenera is a spiritual successor to one of the best games ever created Planescape Torment and we will see a comeback of more narrative story telling with lots of text to read in this wildly creative and interesting setting. I had a chance to play a little bit of beta and I must say, I'm very excited for this game.
Mass Effect Andromeda
Mass Effect is making a comeback and will this be a great comeback story, I guess we shall see. This time good old Shepard will not be in the game (as far as we know) and we will get a chance to explore brand new Andromeda galaxy. I smell game of the year rewards with this one.
Prey
Prey 2 was supposed to be completely different game when it was announced few years ago, game was scrapped and started anew. This will be a futuristic First Person Shooter with horror elements. And as you can see in the screenshot this game will be an eye candy like no other.
Dawn of War 3
Dawn of War games have always been great and this one will also be great, how great we shall see. Relic always delivers on the promised though so this game will be a success. Three races will be playable, Space Marines, Orks and Eldar. It looks like that Relic is making highly competitive game that will compete with Starcraft 2.
South Park: Fractured But Whole
Following the big success of the Stick of Truth this highly anticipated South Park RPG could be great. Game could be great even if it's only half as good as the first game. This time South Park creators will make fun of super hero movies. Keep an eye on this satirical piece of software.
Divinity: Original Sin 2
First Divinity game was one of the best RPG games of 2015 and game received many game of the year awards. Original Sin 2 is shaping up nicely and I'm sure that this will be one of the best games of 2017. Another year of old school RPG gameplay, I'll take it.
Definitely, I will play mass effect and pray. But first need to finish Alien Insolation and Skyrim SE.

Virtual reality is pushing hard these days. From gaming standpoint you can find many unique indie games. Mainstream media is hardly following those type of games so it is harder to find them. But yes, most gaming companies are making games that are using old familiar formulas that work.

Looks like 2017 will be the year I upgrade my PC. AMD is releasing a new processor family, classic games are getting massive overhauls, and a lot of great new games are on the way.

Since when is spellforce RTS? There is no strategy at all. Its Diablo in big.

It is a RTS, you build a base, collect resources and recruit units that you control in groups then destroy your opponents base in real time. Hero is there to level up and cast spells so there are also RPG elements, like I said a Hybrid game between RTS and RPG.
