Retro - Old PC Games From Early 2000s

Times of great advancements in graphics department, stronger GPU's, CPU's, more Ram, flat screens with more resolution like this Hansol I had back in the day. Revolution started, you had to upgrade your old PC for something more modern or crash and burn and play Red Alert forever. So, my next generation PC looked like this. Pentium 1.6 Ghz, 512Mb Ram, 80Gb hard disk, GPU was one of the first radeon cards, and operating system was windows 98. Again you can say that was a fucking machine back in the day! Naturally games got an upgrade too and were more hardware hungry and more advanced. Here are some of the best games from early 2000s. 

Morrowind

Elder Scrolls series never disappoints and Morrowind was at the time one of the most ground breaking fantasy games ever. Everything was great about that game, atmosphere, immersion, huge world to explore, music, graphics like you've never seen before. Character development was deep and diverse, new weapons and armors felt great and spells did the right job. Exploring Dwemer ruins and fighting Dunmer or Dark Elves while great evil lurks above you was never this much fun. 

Baldur's Gate 2 

Game based on Dungenons&Dragons fantasy and rule set. Every location was interesting and nicely drawn. Every character in the game had it's backstory and were real fun to have them around. Remember Minsk and his Heroic hamster pet Boo? And game had one of the most iconic villains ever in any game. Combat system was very deep where you needed to pause the combat to give your party orders or you would not get that far.

Arcanum 

Huge detailed world, epic story, itemization and crafting is what makes this game one of my favorite fantasy games ever.Steam punk open world RPG where you can play with any fantasy race  imaginable and be any sort of class. Explore the fantasy world of Arcanum and see wonders like you've never seen before.

Diablo 2

Original Diablo created ARPG genre, Diablo 2 took that same formula and expanded it like never before. Everything about Diablo 2 was great, grim fantasy atmosphere, great character development, great evil to fight and so much loot. Loot like you've never seen before. 

Far Cry

If you wanted to play this you needed that hardware upgrade, at the time those graphics were godlike. The water, the nature, everything looked perfect back then. You found yourself on an island where strange cyborgs started to appear and you had to fight for your life. As shooters go this was hands down one of the best ones.
