Top 10 3rd Person Action Games

Today I will talk about 3rd person games. 3rd person point of view is when you look at your character from behind, Lara Croft from Tomb Raider franchise is the best example for that type of games, and she is the most popular one in that regard. Dark Souls games would also be on this list if I liked them enough , but i do understand why those games are so popular. Once again quickly digestible top 10 list of 3rd Person Action Games.

1. Witcher 3

Playing Witcher 3 is like drinking great wine and being massaged by 2 pretty ladies, pardon my french but this game is that great. This game is such a detailed labor of love from Polish developers CD Project RED, Geralt of Rivia is not your typical hero, but what he does best is monster slaying and getting all the girls. Witcher 3 sets the standard for any future game how it should be done.  

2. Skyrim

Latest in popular Elder Scrolls series is the story of Dragonborn. You yell dragon language on poor wild life and ragdoll them around. Fun and detailed world of exploration and learning about who you are. Dragons flying around and terrorizing people, but not when you are around. If the next entry in the Elder Scrolls series will be as good as Skyrim then i will be a happy gamer.

3. Mass Effect 2

Personally my favorite Mass Effect game, it had darker tone than the original, and the 3rd was not that great. Science Fiction at it's best. Brand new universe created from Bioware studios. Interesting races and locations, big space station and literally the largest enemy imaginable. I won't spoil for you guys, just check this game.

4. San Andreas

Driving around with the chopper on the highway and on the radio playing "Horse with no name", it is the closest feeling to the real thing, I think, I've never driven any coppers before. But this game was just wow. Huge world, so many things to do. Interesting characters, but what else can you expect from GTA games. Nothing but the best.

5. Max Payne 2

Once yout turn on any Max Payne game you will notice the atmosphere is much better here than in any other game, that film noir feeling this game gives is so good. Dark story and his personal demons Max is fighting against makes this one of the best games ever. Bullet time is also one of the greatest game additions. 

6. Prince of Persia: Warrior Within

Got to have one platformer on this list, Prince of Persia games are amongst the most popular franchises ever. If you add to hard platforming a big sand demon that is chasing you while you jump over obstacles, you get an adrenaline rush like no other. Big accomplishment considering this is just a game.

7. Mafia 2

The best franchise from gangster era are Mafia games. If you love that prohibition times you will love this game. Open world to roam with your vintage cars and Thompson machine guns makes this one of the most fun games ever. Story is also very interesting. Check it out if haven't already.

8. Prototype

Alex Mercer is our protagonist in this overt the top action game. Your character has gotten some kind of mutations that makes his body indestructible and can create objects from his own genetic material. You could fly, dive from high altitudes and crash like a nuke. One of the most freeing game experiences I've ever had. 

 

9. Just Cause 2

This game is very similar to GTA games with big open world or Sand Box where you can go everywhere and drive anything. This game also had some crazy stuns that you couldn't do in GTA games like paragliding once you shoot your grappling hook on any object possible.

10. Red Faction Guerilla

What is in common in every Red Faction game? Destructible environment on planet Mars. Original Red Faction and Red Faction 2 were first person shooters but this one has taken the different road. Fun road i must add. Destroy everything and kill everyone.
