I kind of had the same issue with my 360.
I had the Borderlands 2 disc in, powered it on and it made a very bad noise. The disc got damaged and the tray started not ejecting properly anymore.
The disclaimer here is I was using my 360 in vertical stance. Flipping it flat on a surface had a positive effect on the issue.
