A Golden Wake

A Golden Wake is a game by Wadjet Eye games. Like all of the Wadjet Eye games, it is a point and click adventure, with a pixelated esthetic.

The game is based on real events, although I honestly do not know enough history to tell you how closely it adheres to them.

In this game, you play an estate agent during the 20s, who moves to Miami in order to make a name for himself during the real estate boom at the time. The game takes place over several years, in the shape of short vignettes at different points in time. We get to watch the characters life as he makes decisions.

Unlike a lot of other point and click games, this one relies more on character interaction, rather then classic puzzle-solving (although there is plenty of that). Most of the characters are based on real people of the era, and they come across as having depth and interest.

The only objection I might have to the game is that it is rather short, with just a couple of hours worth of play time.

I would definitelly recommend it.
