Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Updated Review

It has now been a couple of months since the launch of the latest Call of Duty game. I have found myself playing other games in the limited time I have had to play games on console on a weekly basis and I thought that I could write a post to reflect on the reasons why. I was surprised how quickly the interest I had on the game went away after only a couple of weeks whereas my interest for new Call of Duty games would normally last until at least the Holidays. It is normally the time we get to see the first release of new content which I often think that determines how much I will play into the game.

They have also not launched any major eSport events yet which also normally keeps me interested in the game. The fact that there is no competitive mode in the game also does not help which leads me to probably why I have disliked the game. It feels that some weapons and class setups have been made to really make players rage and quit; I know it has for me! I think that some are too unbalanced and cannot be farther from the reality which makes it frustrating. For example, there is a shotgun (725 I believe) which is very strong as it feels it provides too much damage without even aiming! What is worst is that despite also deploying patches to try to balance these issues, many have yet to be solved.

What has made this worst is that the issues have fragmented the group of friends that have played online together for years. Many have played other games or none at all. Our late night game sessions have become shorter as many do not really want to play the game more than a couple of games. I am one that has preferred to continue playing Destiny 2 which has also made my experience worst as a solo player. I am hoping that the game improves by fixing these items so that the group of friends can get back together for some fun!
