How Konami Turned its back on thier own fanbase.

Konami Digital Entertainment was pretty instrumental in any gamers childhood. If you knew it or not Konami has given us so many classic AAA titles. Whether it's trying to dodge cars/truck on the road as a frog to get to the other side or, infiltrating Shadow Moses Konami has given us fond memories.

Where did Konami go wrong? Was it when they decided to go crazy with pesky micro-transactions, or maybe it was when they decided to give Hideo Kojima the boot? Either way it was sort of like a snowball effect of terrible decisions. Firing an employee is pretty much the norm for any of corporate juggernaut. However, Kojima's case sticks out not only was he a loyal employee since the late 80s. His baby Metal Gear Solid was yanked from his clutches before he left the door. Although according to Kojima himself Metal Gear Solid The Phantom Pain is "The Last entry" under his name, a claim that he has made before.

Fast Forward four years later Konami is set to release Metal Gear Survive their first Metal Gear title after the departure of their most famous employee Hideo Kojima. As a fan of the series its hard not to be enticed by this new title. Should you boycott anything Konami because of their poor treatment of Kojima? It seems that is the stand some gamers are taking.

As if the firing of their prized employee wasn't enough to make anyone root against Konami. According to Eurogamer, Konami will start to move away from Developing AAA console titles and focus on the mobile, and casino games. Remember that glorious Metal Gear Sold 3 HD trailer they tease then, come to find out it was for a damn Pachinko machine. In my opinion one of the cruelest things, they have ever done. This move away from the console market will surely leave some Silent Hill and Metal Gear fans sour.
