A huge greeting to the whole community of Steemit, this time I have the pleasure to come and write about the first video game console called Magnavox Odyssey after an internet search I could tell a little about this first console that I Gave a turn to all the games encouraging better consoles like those that exist today, so I will inform you about this console that maybe many of us do not know.

History

It all started with the man nicknamed * the father of video games * whose name is Ralph Baer, set him the goal in 1951 to create a television model last but Ralph thought that to be perfect had to have something that could entertain a Game for this television to be different from the others, but his ideas were not heard and was in 1966 where he catches the attention of Sanders Associates who was interested in his idea of creating interactive games on screens, getting So he was assigned an assistant Bob Tremblay and they gave him an empty room where he could work on his new project.

During this journey were making several prototypes but this became popular after Baer and his partners signed a contract with Magnavox which was in charge of the design of the final console and added more games, despite all sales ended up being everything exit.

A little more about the Odyssey

It was called "Brown Box" and in total only got to have 28 games all with a great simplicity, highlighting that they did not have sound nor was it with any type of processor or memory, the controls of this lacked nothing more than 1 button to be able to execute the game.

Replaceable cartridges are used for the various games it offers and because of its small hardware players should always write down or memorize any type of scores.

Games

Among the games of the Magnavox Oddysey were sports classics such as tennis and hockey, devised transparent plastic sheets that adhered to the TV depending on the game gave a perspective and area other than the game, there were times that even shared the same sheets For the game and the only thing they changed was the rules.

There were other special sheets one of a map that was an educational game where we had to point out where the state was that the other person indicates us. While there was another special sheet of a casino roulette, where we used a board that was included in the Odyssey pack, the console became an automatic roulette where players could bet as if they were in a real casino.

The creators of this first console's had to devise well to create eye-catching games for the public and despite having no sound or a memory to store scores, they attached notebooks to record the scores of the players that came to complement The table games that came in the pack.

Another thing that gave a turn to this console was another invention of the creator of the Brown Box, Ralph Baer was a rifle for a shooting game to improve the Odyssey this became the first accessory of the console, the Which consisted of shooting targets in movements that appeared on the screen.

This was all of the post, I hope you liked it, it seems impressive all the evolution of video game consoles, starting with this first one that despite all its cons certainly generated a whole change in this technology, without more than Say thank you for your attention
