The model 2 is the most efficient model, pending you have a model 2 Sega Genesis. They can be a bit pricey, but it's worth noting that it does play burned CD games so you can experience games like Snatcher and not have to pay $700+

I never had a Sega CD. I have played Sonic CD, however. I have the HD remaster on Steam, and while I wouldn't call it as good as Sonic 4 & Knuckles or the recently released Sonic Mania, it's still a very good game in its own right.
