The beloved real-time strategy game Age of Empires is getting remastered for Windows 10. Announced at the PC Gaming Show, Age of Empires Definitive Edition will be available with numerous enhancements in celebration of its 20th anniversary.
"20 years after its launch, Microsoft is proud to announce the Definitive Edition of the original Age of Empires. Fully remastered with 4K graphics, re-orchestrated soundtrack, major gameplay improvements, new narrative, Xbox Live multiplayer and achievements, the Definitive Edition brings back the classic game and its Rise of Rome expansion."
If you lived through the embarrassment and failure of Age of Empires Online, you were probably one of many wondering if Age of Empires would ever make a comeback. Although we haven’t got a new game in the series yet, we have received new DLC for Age of Empires II, and now a definitive edition of the original. A new title is only a little ways off, right?
