[EN] HYPERSPIN - The Perfect Frontend for Retro-Gamers!

in gaming •  7 years ago  (edited)

Hello dear Community,

Today I would like to introduce to all gamers, especially the retro-gamers amongst you a very interesting thing, that would be Hyperspin.

Hyperspin is a Frontend or let´s say a "Software", you can imagine it like a launcher (a launcher is starting something), so you choose your desired video game system from a menu, in the following submenu your desired game and Hyperspin automatically starts the required emulator with your chosen game in your chosen settings.

This is not necessarily something brand new and Hyperspin has been around for a few years now, but in my opinion it differs from other frontends by its configuration possibilities and possibilities in it´s individual design.

Not only can you use the frontend to set up and play an unbelievable number of Games on your machine, you can also start programs like Kodi directly in Hyperspin and have a full-fledged media center, set up according to your personal wishes. Music or something similar is of course also no problem. Your PC games can of course also be integrated and started via the frontend :)

As I said before, the frontend (the software) is completely customizable to your personal wishes, whether it's about the visual appearance or the included systems and games.

Hyperspin is "only a frontend" or a software, there are no Emulators or games included, you have to download/install them yourself and in the configuration you have to tell Hyperspin where they are installed to, to start them.
But there are a lot of ready-to-use packages to download on the internet, which will save you from this work and you can also reconfigure them according to your wishes ;)
It is advantageous to have worked with Emulators before and it is not easy to find your way into the configuration of the system in the beginning, but there are even video tutorials which explain this in detail and step-by-step, so don't worry ;)

Have you become curious?
Then here are some pictures of Hyperspin to give you a deeper impression:

The explanation is also quite informative and as I said before, it looks like the way you want it to after configuring it if there is something you dislike! :)

Of course the whole thing can be operated via your system on a normal PC screen or a TV for example, but of course a Arcade Cabinet is the best you can do with Hyperspin, here are some examples in form of videos and pictures of what people have built.

There is also a relatively new version for the Raspberry Pi, called Hyperpie and compared to the Raspberry Pi´s already existing systems like Recalbox or RetroPie, of which I already here (Not all systems are running on the RasPi due to performance reasons, but the selection is still more than sufficient.)
Here is a small and quite current video about HyperPie:

I hope I could inspire you for this as I find absolutely ingenious system:)
If you have any questions or need help, feel free to contact me. I also have a Hyperspin and EmuMovies Lifetime Premium Account if you might need something from the Premium Archive or similar; D
