in gaming •  7 years ago  (edited)

The Atari 2600 is a home video game console by Atari, Inc. Released on September 11, 1977, it is credited with popularizing the use of microprocessor-based hardware and ROM cartridges containing game code, a format first used with the Fairchild Channel F video game console in 1976.

Here is the newer version of the console in a 1980s commercial

Long live Atari!

That’s a blast from the past, cheers

You are welcome!

I still have the 2600 I got in 1982 and it still works like a champ.

Very nice retrospective. Its hard to believe its a 40 year old console.

Pretty wild! I wish I still had mine.

I have two or three of them but it's been a while since I've had one hooked up. I have one of the retro remakes hooked up currently though.

Awesome! I use an emulator...it's just not the same though.

I was the Q*bert master...

Awesome! I was a Missile Command General!

I was in charge of feeding alligators in Pitfall.

Too funny! I did that too!
