Hello fellow gamers and Hearthstone addicts, today I come to you with one of the most fun and strong control decks I ever played in Hearthstone since the beta, the Cube Warlock. Warlock has always been one of the strongest control classes due to its hero power which makes your deck flexible because you don't need and cards that make you draw.
Overall playstyle for the deck is keeping control of the board while trying to draw your key cards such as Skull of the Man'ari because you will be sitting on a hand with high cost demons. Most of the time you will have HP problems so you must always have a close eye on your HP and try to use your heals efficiently. This deck can have insane amount of heals if comboed correctly, I remember healing over 40 HP in some matchups! The warlock weapon enables to play them directly from your hand as early as turn 5. This will enable you to use your overwhelming combos early if you have the right cards as well as providing great value as it makes you summon your Doomguard without discarding.
Mulligan vs. Aggro
These four cards are the keys for maintaining control early. Most of the time as aggro decks you will be facing Paladin, Warlock and Tempo Rogue (although after the nerf rogues decreased in numbers it's still a solid deck). Both Paladin and Warlock use 1hp minions alot so defile is a great tool for full board clear. Hellfire is also a great clear with an additional synergy opportunity with Lesser Amethyst Spellstone. The key to victory against aggro decks is simply maintain control and don't die since late game is in your favor.
Mulligan vs. Control
Control matchup start is usually on warlocks favor because you can use your hero power to draw cards on a slow paced start which will provide great value in the late game. Best card for control at start is the Mountain Giant because you can summon an 8/8 body at turn 4. Most of the time opponent will be forced to watch as you slowly hit face for 8 damage specially in mirror matchups because Siphon Soul costs 6 mana and you can start duplicating you giants using Faceless Manipulator and Cube combos. The Skull of Man'ari is also essential because you don't want to wait to summon your demons from your hand where unless you have the skull you will be stting with them for a long time. The most annoying thing is having to play Doomguard from your hand to discard valuable cards. Possessed Lackey is valuable for the same reason, it enables you to summon your demons from your deck.
There are numerous ways you can combo as this is the single most combo available deck in Hearthstone history. The key cards for combos are as follows:
My favorite one is eating a doomguard with cube and than using Faceless Manipulator or Prince on it. Which yields a total of 4 doomguards. Now imagine using the same combo when a Spellsinger Umbra is present on the board! Oh all the possibilites!
Instead of using it in an offensive way you can also use it defensive with Mistress of Mixtures. When an Spellsinger is present the same combo can heal you for 16 instant heal or 24 ranging to 34!
Best part of eating doomguards is that with Bloodreaver Gul'dan you can summon 7 demons. The only downside to this is that if you had many voidwalkers dead they have a high chance of being summoned!
This crazy deck can turn a losing ame in to a victory in mere seconds and thats what makes it exciting! All the possibilites this deck has to offer makes it the most fun deck to play in my opinion! If you have any questions about card replacements if you don't have the necessary cards feel free to ask!
This deck is a killer in the current meta, some players use a nzoth verison, i believe your version is the best tho!
