Call of The Wild is a hunting simulation game launched by Avalanche Studios and developed by Expansive Worlds. This game was first released on February 16, 2017. Unlike its predecessor series The Hunter Classic, which can be downloaded for free, this game is a paid version that can be purchased and downloaded via Steam. Until now this game is still continuing to update the improvement and addition of new features. Game is also planned to release also for the console version of Playstation 4 and Xbox One, but for the date of release has not been determined.

Gameplay

The Hunter: Call of the Wild is a hunting simulation game with the point of view of a first-person shooter camera. This game can be played offline or online multiplayer up to 8 players.

Unlike other shooting games, this game focuses on hunting where we are not advised to shoot at the head but instead directing shots to vital parts such as the heart or lungs. This is so that the animals we seek can fall directly in one shot. But if we miss the shot and do not provide significant damage, we can still follow the trail of their blood until finally find the location of the animal is uprooted. The distance between locations hit by the location of their falling down depending on the amount of damage that we give. The smaller the damage that will be more difficult we do tracking against the target that has been shot earlier. The shooting location will turn into a black spot where the animals will not approach the area for some time. Black spots can be viewed through the map or GPS. This area will return neutral in some time.

There are various kinds of weapons available that can be used. At the beginning of the game, we are equipped with some standard equipment such as rifle, GPS, caller, and binocular. For the use of weapons were divided into several classes depending on the class of animals that we hunt. The more effective the gunshots and weapons we use the more money and experiance points (XP) we get. Better weapons can also be purchased, but only open after we reach a certain weapon score. Weapon score can be increased by catching the game with similar weapons. The money we get can be used to buy various post-hunting equipment such as rifles, bullets, drugs, etc., which are scattered throughout the map.

This game also has a leveling feature and skill tree which when we have reached a certain level, we will get the skill point and also the perk used to get a certain ability. This certainly makes hunting easier and fun. Skill tree is divided into 2 types stalker and ambusher that we can choose according to our game style.

To find the animals to be hunted, the first step is to find the footprints or dirt they left behind. From there we can dig up information such as the freshness of the footprint and the prediction of their direction away. Along with the increasing skill and perk we get, other information can we know for example sex and skin type. In addition we can also follow the sound source heard in the forest (vocal call). By following in their footsteps we can also find the point where they are feeding, drinking zone, and rest zone. In this way it will be easier to find them as per their requirement schedule. In the game there is also a night hunt where we can only see their footsteps by using lights. The night hunt begins at 19:00 to 05:00.
