The Final Fantasy XV Benchmark Fail...

in gaming •  7 years ago  (edited)

This time, i am about to tell you something about that dang Benchmark Fail...

I easily found out, why that Benchmark is crashing, it's because they just don't support old CPU's or more like the SSE 4.1 is Necessary to run the Benchmark, and to prove that Fact, i used some sort of "SSE 4.1" Emulation.
Of course, my AMD Phenom II x6 1090T BE is Ancient, but that doesn't mean the Benchmark should just crash!

It more or less just looked alright, the sound was... idontwantomtalkaboutit!!!

Just look at that! It "works"

It's just a fact that the Benchmark needs a lot of Optimisation, and not just from the CPU perspective, this Benchmark got some major criticism, because of the Gameworks and useless stuff, that got rendered miles away, wasting performance, slowing down even modern hardware!

I don't want to nag so much about this anymore, because many other's did it already, but i just had to show you...

That my old Phenom II is still capable of "running" this dang recent Benchmark... Of course, i am looking to upgrade it someday, but not for this Game! No Optimisation, It's a No Buy for me!

And that from a long time Final Fantasy Fan! I just loved FF7, FF8, FF3, FF4, FF9, FF10, FF12, FFX-2, Advanced, War of the Lions and some more...They really don't know the meaning of Final? More like Eternal Fantasy!😉

Incase Square enix saw this awful nagging of mine, please give the Phenom II a chance and optimize your Game, i know you can do it!

  • incase you want to try it yourself The benchmark of FFXV
  • If it crashes after clicking start, then you might have a similar CPU, i got that SDE from Intel's site
  • It worked after extracting it into the Benchmarks directory, then open cmd as admin and type "sde -- ffxv" as seen in the screenshot above. it's better to Turn the sound off...

The Edit

About the Sound, just set it to Stereo on the windows sound settings... Unoptimized to the max i guess... for some reason it's even german dubbed for me, thats a plus!

  • also i made it to the end of the benchmark and got a score of 2420 thats low, but not bad, because that SDE simulation Stuff eats a lot i suspekt, or because it's unoptimized it's ok?

It's a snip from the Final Fantasy XV Benchmark duh!
  • ok that might be awkward but the last i saw was the camp screen telling me low 2420, but it doesn't wait until i made a screenshot, it just closes, so i thought it was a crash...

And of course that one, looks yummy to the max!!!

I think your rig is more suitable with 720p gaming..1080p is a lot to ask from this rig. But crashing is not expected.. :/

The only old part of my rig is the mainboard and CPU, for some reason my CPU works fine with the RX 480 GPU, i do play a lot of games 1080p60 fps, ie. Wolcen a cryengine inDev title, i remember having like 45avg fps.

  • I know that crashing issue, from testing the RE7 demo and from no mans sky at the launch, these have fixed that issue.

RX 480 will do much better with newer cpu..I had 20 fps boost on witcher 3 when I changed my cpu from old AMD to newer Intel.
