Christmas is less than 3 weeks away so there is still time to get that one gift for that mad gamer you know.

Yes you could just buy another game that will keep them entertained for while, but if you don't want to buy another game, there are alternatives that a true gamer will appreciate much more.

So here is my top 5 Christmas presents every gamer will want.

5 – Asus Republic Of Gamers Claymore Core Keyboard.

RGB seems to be a trend that isn't going away any time soon, so for that ultimate present for the PC gamer, this would be it. The Claymore Core is a mechanical keyboard that is much smoother and more direct than a standard one, the RGB backlighting is fully customisable to any colour and even the individual keys can be highlighted and the rest left blank for the gamer who need to know where each button is. It also features custom key mapping, an anti ghosting feature, meaning you cant accidentally roll over and hit another key, great for accuracy. The colour profiles can be saved and changed on the fly and it is a solid aluminium construction. As a bonus, they all come with a standard lifetime warranty from the manufacturer, so you can rest assured you are getting a quality product.

4 – Acer Mixed Reality Headset Bundle.

Virtual reality is taking off and the VR headsets, although some can be expensive, are the next evolutionary step in game immersion. More and more titles are coming out that are VR compatible or strictly VR, so why not treat them to this. After only a couple of minutes to set everything up, you are good to go. The headset has full 6 degrees of motion complete with 2x 1440p displays (4k total) that give a 100* field of view. It also has an accelerometer, gyro sensor, magnetometer and proximity sensors. Full HDMI 2.0 supported and has standard, USB 3.0 connectivity along side audio jacks.
The 2 hand controllers act the same way as a joypad would but split between the hands to allow full movement to interact with the virtual world, but also works well with a joypad for those compatible games. It also comes with a 12 months, parts and labour warranty.
It is a good mid range VR headset that doesn't break the bank.

3 – Razer ManO'War Wireless RGB 7.1 Gaming Headset.

Another RGB item, this time in a headset. This may look like every other headset, but it is so, so, so, so much better. If you game for 2 hours a day, you can game for up to 10 days on a single charge. The impressive Li'ion batteries last for up to 20 hours of use, 14 if the RGB lighting is left on. The Speakers are 50mm neodymium magnets that produce very crisp sound over a zero lag wireless connection, the microphone is fully retractable for when you just want to use them for music, they have a 12 meter range and include a 2 meter range extender, they have sound dampening technology built into the ear cushions and to top it off, they are rechargeable via a USB connection. All in all, a very comfortable headset that can go hand in hand with any gamers arsenal.

2 – Thermaltake XC 500 Comfort series Gaming Chair.

Most gamers generally will be sat in one spot for hours on end, the issues with this is it can eventually lead to health issues like blood clots in the legs or DVT. Being comfortable and having a good sitting posture will help alleviate some of those problems. The XC 500 is a hybrid chair between a high end office chair and a racing seat. Apart from the very robust build quality, just about everything on this chair is adjustable from the angle and height of the armrests, to the angle of the back rest which is up to 160*, almost flat and the tilt mechanism. The chair also includes a lumbar support and head cushion so you can find the optimal position to stay comfortable and not loose your head. Not only does this chair perform well it also looks the part which is what every gamer wants in a gaming chair.

1 – NES or SNES Mini Classic.

What gamer doesn't want a piece of iconic history from the Golden Age of Gaming?
Both of these consoles come with preloaded games, and the SNES comes with the never before released game, Star Fox 2, something retro gamers have been dyeing to play since it got cancelled in the early 90's. So not only will retro gamers appreciate them, the new gaming generation will get hours of fun exploring the history of gaming. The consoles are identical miniatures of the originals, complete with game pads and are completely identical to their retro counterparts in almost every detail, it will also look good in any gamers collection.
Many gamers won't know they wanted one of these until they do get one. I should know. I got mine early. Wooohoooo.
