Technology is the fastest moving revolution of all time. It is constantly being updated, upgraded, replaced and improved upon on a nearly daily basis. CD's have almost been replaced by digital music. Floppy discs have been replaced by thumb drives. Public pay phones have all but gone and even cigarettes have been upgraded to electronic vape machines. And that is since 2007.
Here is a list of 5 Technologies that will be gone within the next 10 years.
5 – Mobile/Smart Phones.
The majority of households in the world have more mobile phones than they do toilets. It is hard to imagine life without a phone today, it is our connection to the world and our entertainment.
With the rise of Smart Home Hubs such as the Google Home and the Amazon Echo, as well with the predominant use of Siri and Cortana, the future may change to a small device that is fully voice controlled with minimal human interaction. Or they may turn into a set of glasses similar to that of the Google glasses. There are even rumours floating about that there could even be an implant into either your head or hand, similar to the sub dermal hand phone seen in the 2012 total recall film.

4 – DVD/Blue-ray.
As with all storage mediums, there is always going to be something that will be more efficient and can store more data. As it was with Vinyl records being rplaced by cassettes, then replaced with CD's and then digital, the same can be said about DVD and Blu-ray. With the rise of subscription servises such as Netflix, Amazon Prime and Now TV, the sales and use of both these mediums have already started to decline and many people now have a digital library of films, instead of an well organised dvd collection that would take up a lot of room right next to that DVD player.

3 – Remote Controls.
Every morning when I wake up, I go to the kitchen to make a cup of Tea, and then hunt down the 2 remote controls for the TV and set top box, then sit down and watch some TV while I wake up properly. Soon though, that scenario will be a thing of the past, and it already is for some people. AI and voice control is taking over the job the the good old fashioned remote. Many new high end TV's are now sold with both voice and expression controls. So in the future I will wake up and make my morning Tea, then sit down, tell the TV to switch on and use my hand to change channels or ask it to find something for me to watch.

2 – TV Set Top Box's.
Many of us around the world use a set top box to watch a wide array of TV programs with SKY being the biggest supplier. This will soon be obsolete thanks to a couple of factors, with the introduction of Smart TV's that have a free view alternative built in and apps that allow you to watch live or catch up TV on demand. Subscription services that do away with advertising altogether and show you the programs or films you want to watch, and USB based TV streaming such as Amazons fire TV stick that allow you to watch programs and Films on amazon Prime.
So no more unsightly box and remote and no more high monthly fees for the privileged of watching your favourite programs that are always interrupted by advertising.

1 – Game Consoles.
The gaming industry is one of the wealthiest and largest growing economies in the world, with Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo leading the way with a new console every 3 – 4 years.
Nvidia, the worlds leading Graphics manufacture in the world and the number one choice for many PC gamers, has started a streaming service that allows you to play the latest games at up to 4K resolution, in real-time via the Shield box. So all you do now is plug and play, no more waiting for games to download, install, update or patch. Simply select the game you want to play and start playing straight away as a single player, Local Multiplayer or online multiplayer. You also have the option of playing on your phone, tablet and Laptop or PC too if you so desired. There are also rumours that Steam will be setting up a similar service too. Doing away with the traditional console altogether.

Its hard to see that these everyday items that we couldn't do without disappearing altogether, but we thought the exact same way about cassette tapes, typewriters, CD's, Walkmans and pagers. If there is one thing you can guarantee, its that everything will soon be replaced by something much better.

Future Tech - Part 22 - Tech That Will be Gone Within the Next 10 Years is an incredibly insightful video that explores the rapidly changing landscape of technology. The predictions are not only thought-provoking but also quite eye-opening, as it sheds light on gadgets and platforms that may soon be obsolete. The discussion around how technologies like outdated streaming tools, such as Twitch viewers bot, will fade away in favor of more advanced solutions was particularly interesting. I really appreciate how the video highlights the continuous evolution of tech and its impact on our daily lives. Definitely a must-watch for tech enthusiasts!
