This is my newest PC build. It's an Intel 7700k Processor cooled with a Corsair H110i all in one water cooler, GTX 1070 Video Card, 16GB of RAM, 2 1TB Hard Drives and a single 120GB Solid-State Drive. It's built inside an NZXT S340 Elite case, on a Gigabyte motherboard. I tried my best to handle the cable management, but decided I would make it look better when I put the custom water loops inside of it eventually.
How did I get to the point of impulsively spending $1200+ on a new computer a few months ago, with plans to upgrade it already? Did I just wake up one day and realize I wanted to play all my video games in a chair with a mouse and a keyboard instead of laid back on the couch with a controller in my hand? No, this was gradual. Take my hand, for a story time full of video games!
Most of my life I was a console kid, I even devoted myself to the Gawd, Nintendo. I had Nintendo power magazine, Mario breath mints, I wanted a giant mushroom beanbag chair, the random things I bought like clothes and such were frequently influenced by my favorite iconic console characters color schemes, because why not? I was immersed, it was my world, and that world was colorful bright, whimsical, and special. Displays like this were my crack.
So what changed? The older I grew, the more competitive I became. I wanted to play games professionally, I became addicted to playing Halo 2/3 and Gears of War 1, they consumed my soul and turned me from preppy little mario nerd, to raging mountain dew chugging Gnasher junkie. 1v1 me on Canals, bro, I will blindfire headshot you off a wall bounce with a sniper rifle.. I camp the elevators on Construct too and you'll never see someone with better Spartan Laser aim than I had.
And then I realized something...Wow, consoles aren't for me anymore. I want to have top of the line performance, I want to have a (let's be fucking real) more mature community, and dammit I wanted to adapt to a new method of playing my favorite titles. I loved the massive library and the hard to replicate on console, RTS titles. I'm fucking garbage at Starcraft but I can get hype with a crowd watching it no problem.
Counter-Strike is made for a mouse and a keyboard, the game is a wonderful assembly of tactics and reactionary skill, things like League of legends test your ability to manage time and make decisions with accuracy. Quake tests how quickly your eyes can scan a screen and actually hit something as you're flying around the map. Hearthstone is literally the only digital card game worth playing in my eyes, unless MTG Online gets a better interface. My favorite fighting games like Street Fighter and Tekken, Marvel vs Capcom, Guilty Gear and King of Fighters? They're alll on PC now too, and look incredible and support all the kinds of arcade joysticks you'd want, without having to buy multiple for different systems.
The above image is basically me. I couldn't even watch some of the areas my girlfriend was playing in Breath Of The Wild a week ago because of all the damn frame drops and freezes. I love that title too, I just think I'd get annoyed playing and notice all of those minor things.
So I'll put up with slow to release updates, buggy ports, and sometimes awkward controls that keyboard and mouse offer. I'll put up with the viruses and bloat software. I'll put up with the Blue Screen of Death. Just to play some video games. I love my PC and it's what's right for me!

Hey, friend, you sure are ahead of me in the Glorious PC Master Race. I am a casual Counter Strike player myself, and have been thinking about buying a GTX 1080 for some days now, but I have gone all in into cryptos and so given my plan a break, haha.
I want to be there where you are now, having a glorious PC rig. Hopefully, I will join you soon.
