Growing up I played a lot of different types of games. Space games, flight simulators, rpgs, platformer, side scrollers, first and third person shooters, and finally one of my favorite types of games was Beat Em Ups!!!! Of course I liked all types of games but for some reason I always enjoyed getting with a friend and playing multiplayer Beat Em Ups.
There was really nothing to the games but just smashing buttons and watching your character beat the crap out of bad guys. It was so satisfying, watching bad guys fly across the screen as they make funny dying noises like UGH!, AAAHHHH, NOOOOO, or just exploding noises. I could probably sit here and name a long list of those games that hold a special place in my heart.
There were so many Beat Em Up games in the 80's and 90's. It would literally take me forever to think of every single Beat Em Up Game!! I don't think I really have forever. LOL!!!! Some of the best games would be: TMNT: Turtles In Time (I freaking love all the TMNT games), X-Men Arcade, Final Fight 1 - 3, Double Dragon (There were so many of these games), Power Rangers: The Movie, Brawl Brothers, Golden Axe, and hundreds more.
My favorite Beat Em Up that I have probably played literally a Million Times would be: Streets Of Rage 1 & 2.
As a kid I probably beat this a thousand times with my cousin Mike. Then another thousand times by myself. Have you played this amazing game? Characters Adam, Skate, Max, Axel, and Blaze. I loved all these characters and they all had an amazing move list that I could watch over and over again. I am not going to go into detail about the story line. I'll save that for another blog lol. One move I could never get tired of is when Skate get on the back of someones shoulders and bashes their heads in lol.

Battletoads! Though I only played the first two levels dozens of times before being frustrated to death by the impossible speed racer level😬

hahahaha Yeah I know exactly what you mean.....I have done the same on Battletoads lol....I ended up in my grown man years and saying forget it....I'm watching someone else beat it on youtube hahaha

Well that is not the type of Beat Em Up I was talking about but that is an amazing fighting game.....I used to get frustrated playing people at the arcade when I was little.....Damn these Street Fighter Tournament people lol
