Absolver

Take the seemless online multiplayer aspect of the Dark Souls series , the combat system of For Honor only much more in depth and the amazing indie art style that I could almost describe as having a pastel look. Combine all of those and you have Absolver.

This game took me by surprise , when I was contemplating buying it from steam I was cautious that I would not enjoy it , that it would be to much about the grind. I could not have been more wrong. The combat is so fluent and learning new moves while wandering the maze like map means the grind is always changing. The combat can also be extremely challenging and often you will be faced by more than one enemy at a time. That is a good thing thou because when you manage to beat two or three enemies at once you feel like a god as you run off to defeat your next opponent.

As for the story aspect of the game, it is not Absolver's strong point. You start the game being sworn in as a prospect and your goal is to defeat the six marked ones and then the final boss to achieve your goal of becoming and Absolver. Sadly I was left wanting more bosses. I did enjoy the backstory or lore of the game, so much is left to the imagination during the cutscenes and in this case that's a good thing as I was able to make up many different versions of what might have happened to the ruined city you play in or how the Absolvers where formed. I do hope that in the future they add moree story content however and maybe reveal more of the game world's past.

Overall I would highly recommend this game to anyone who played any of the Dark Souls games or For Honor.
It is 100% worth it's price tag and the pvp will provide endless hours of entertainment if you fancy becoming the best Absolver of them all.
