Why so little traffic with regards to gaming?

I have been browsing Steemit and DTube for a few days. I find much of this site has potential to be huge and the system as a whole could blow up given the right attention.

But I have noticed a severe lack of content involving:

  • eSports
  • gaming
  • streamers
  • Other related podcasts, competitions, etc...

Is there a Specific reason for this? I understand this system is fairly new and often overshadowed by sites such as Twitch.com and youtube.com

My main assumption is that people that would be interested in steemit, DTUBE, DLive, etc... would be more interested in crypto/security/future tech. But is there any real reason for the lack on content in this category?

I noticed this as well. My guess is that most people who are streamers or who make gaming related content already have revenue from ads and subscribers and whatnot on other sites. There probably isn't as much incentive for them to begin using a new platform.

That, and, like you said, Steemit attracts people who are interested in crypto first and foremost. I'm sure as the userbase grows, so will the number of people interested in a wide variety of things, gaming included.
