What is Spyro the Dragon?
Spyro the Dragon is a platforming game developed by Insomniac Games, and was first released on September 10 1998.
Story
You play as Spyro, a small purple dragon. Who is tasked with rescuing all eighty dragons from there crystal encased prisons, and defeat Gnasty Gnorc who imprisoned the dragons.
This is Spyro the Dragon, and Sparks the Dragonfly.
Gameplay
Spyro can; run, jump, glide through the air, burn enemies with his fire breath, and charge at enemies with his horns. While Sparks acts as Spyro's health bar. In the sense that Sparks protects Spyro from getting hit, but when sparks takes enough hits he disappears. You can replenish your health by attacking small animals which will turn then into butterflies that Sparks then can eat and regain health.
In addition to rescuing all the dragons you also have to; collect all 14000 gems, and save all the dragon eggs.
Presentation
In my opinion this game's presentation still hold up to this day.
Final Thoughts
Spyro the Dragon is actually one of the first games that I have every played, in fact between; Spyro, and Crash Bandicoot these are the games that got me into gaming. This game holds a special place in my childhood memories, and this is not just because of nostalgia on account that very recently I played this game again and as you can see above I have %100 the game. I recommend this game to anyone who has not played it, you can get this game for; PS1, or get it on PS3 for $6.
