After the 2017 International ended, Valve introduced a new system that is the presence of a series of Major and Minor tournaments called Dota Pro Circuit held worldwide and lasted for 8 months.
The tournament provides qualifying points which will be the determination of 8 teams to get direct invite to The International 2018.
What are the more info from Dota Pro Circuit? Check it out!
The Important Role of Dota Trainer
The coach's role can be more vital now because the coach can be with the team while doing the draft, but once the pickup and the tire finishes the coach must leave the booth. This only applies when LAN events.
The big teams in the world already have a coach who plays an important role in providing strategy or suggesting the team. This seems to be an opportunity especially in the Indonesian team to recruit trainers or analysts!
Explanation of Qualification Points
Valve explains the presence of Minor and Major tournaments as well as details such as date, place, total prize, and qualifying points. Unlike the previous info, this time the number of Minor tournaments to 16, while the Major tournament is still the same ie 11.
Regarding the qualification of points counted according to the total prize of the tournament, for the Minor tournament, gives a total of 300 points. The ESL Minor Exceptions held in January 2018 will present a total of 400 points and a total prize of USD400,000
As for Major tournaments give the total points as much as 1500, the exception for the last Major which gives a total points of 2250 with total prize of USD1, 5 million
For point sharing, calculated by rank. Only 1 to 4 are eligible for the points.
The first rank will earn 50 percent of the total points, second rank 30 percent, and for third and fourth ranks, depending on the tournament system.
If not differentiate, then the third and fourth winners are entitled to get 10 percent. If it is different then the third rank gets 15 percent and the fourth ranks 5 percent.
Qualifying points are awarded to every player, not to team / organization. Thus, if the player moves the team to approach The International 2018, the team that lost the player is not "benefited".
Roster Lock
Maybe you've seen the various substitutions that are happening now. The question is when a roster lock occurs? Valve tells you there are two stages in the roster lock now!
The first stage of the turn takes place on the team. Players who are out of the team can come back again as long as they receive an invitation from their manager. It applies both to the team and to those who have not. Players who do not get an invite will be removed from the team!
In the second stage, players who have been invited to enter the registration can not get out or drop. The new team can also register, but only free agents can be invited.
If the player is not registered by his manager at the end of the second stage, the invitation is void. Roster lock will end in the second stage.
The first phase will end on September 23, and for the second phase will end on October 4th. Not yet known when the roster lock will be done again but according to the blog Dota 2 will be done early 2018!
