Vintage Story - A hidden gem

I know that right now battle royale is the latest craze and everyone is talking about Fortnite, but why don't you step off the battle field and let me tell you a Vintage Story.

A story that takes place far away from the noisy and turbulent battles of shooters in a quiet and peaceful blocky world. Now you might start thinking about Minecraft, which I won't blame you for, but this game has a lot of things to offer for itself.
Unlike Minecraft it features a beautiful and consistent texture style combined with nice visual effects like sun rays and waving grass.

While the game gives you everything you need to unfold your creativity, like you might have in Minecraft, it also puts a heavy focus on survival and realism. You'll find yourself banging rocks together to get your first tools and later shape molds to cast metals. It's not something difficult or grindy that will put you off, but rather something for you to work on while you're still in early game. It also makes it very rewarding when you finally get your hands on some proper tools to start building that house you wanted.

I have only spend a few hours ingame and have to say that you'll have to do some tinkering since the wiki is your only guide outside some youtube videos or nagging more experienced players over on the discord server, but I have made good progress and really enjoyed the calm ambience and the nice soundtrack.
When I progress further I'll try to build some stuff and explore the decorative stuff that the game has to offer, but for now you'll just have to believe me that I'm an amazing builder and look at something others have built:

The game is still under heavy development so you might encounter some crashes, but unlike in Minecraft in its early stage you will lose little to no progress. So if you want a relaxing and atmospheric game that'll keep you occupied for a while, why not give it a try? You can get your hands on a copy for just 10 bucks and support the small team that is currently working on it.

The game also has a Modding API and other content creation tools (Like a model editor and built in world editing tools), so if you ever find yourself out of things to do you can be sure that there'll be plenty of mods to expand your game experience.

From what I've seen there's still a lot of content planned for the game and I'm really looking forward to what's to come.
