Fortnite has a reward system. You earn experience, with experience you level up, for leveling up you get points and points level up your Battle Pass which gives you access to cosmetic crap and the currency. You can buy the season pass and get even more cosmetics from Battle Pass.

Sooo, you get cosmetics, exactly the same as in PUBG.
