God of War: Norse Mitology

in gaming •  7 years ago

Surprising seems to be the right word to explain what the Playstation franchise lovers gained from Sony Santa Monica - God of War after the existence of the new series was announced a few years ago. There is little doubt as to what Sony Santa Monica is trying to offer in the upcoming game with no substitutes or numbers. Because as far as the eye can see, he no longer looks and feels like God of War that we all know, but on the other hand, crazy enough to restore Kratos as the main character after God of War 3 series in the previous generation. As lucky gamers to taste this game two weeks faster than the official release date, all these doubts vanished from the first second we tasted it.

Welcome to the new God of War, yet retain the old God of War flavor you long for. Welcome to the new chapter of Kratos life. Welcome to one of the many action games that will be discussed this year.

First impression

Considering it is a project designed to maximize Playstation 4 performance, God of War does look stunning from the visual side. Implementation of more details, from the character clothing design to the variety of new attack effects now emerging from your Leviathan ax makes the fighting sensation feel more fantastic. But the highest praise seems appropriate to be directed at the choice to make Norse mythology a base.

Not just because of the world, stories, and universes that he offers only, but through the scenery that he can offer. Keep in mind, unlike the Greek mythology that is only divided between the world we know and Mount Olympus alone, the Norse is divided into nine different worlds that each have a separate theme. Although most of your journey will be focused on Midgard, but this "human" world alone will show the great debris of the gods and giants of the past. High mountains, snow, various ruins of past civilizations, caves, combined with light and audio are no less cool, God of War offers the right side of presentation to thumbs up.

One thing that drew us in the first impression and we never predicted will make us fall in love is how Sony Santa Monica makes release as well as "education" to introduce Norse mythology with more depth to you. We are not talking about Marble's "Marx" mythology, but something more authentic, though also through the modification of the story to match what is happening with Kratos and Atreus's life at the moment. Offered like a fairy tale that slips through the mouth of Mimir - a god who indeed serves as a storehouse of knowledge, you will enjoy and explore the epic tales of the Norse mythological "inhabitants," from Aesir, Vanir, to the giants of Jotunheim in it.

So, what about the side of gameplay? Simply put, you can simplify it as an RPG action game. The new camera viewing approach and the variety of enemies you face now demands a more strategic and directed attack, no longer just throwing your Blade of Chaos chain blindly and hoping these enemies die just like that. There are indicators to note, from HP to various statuses for Kratos that will change every time you exchange armor and part of the weapon used. More cool? Attendance Atreus not just to perfect the story alone. It serves as a companion character for Kratos range attacks that pass through two types of arrowheads, can help Kratos for certain strategic advantages. Not just thinking and acting on your own, you'll have your own separate buttons to command the arrows of Atreus.

We have actually finished this game, but unfortunately it is not to dedicate a special article to show you, how beautiful this game. But remember, tied to the rules released by Sony Interactive Entertainment and Sony Santa Monica itself, there are many other things that we do not show in a myriad of screenshots fresh from oven below. But it will be content that might potentially end up with a spoiler, although it will be hard to get what happens if we do not provide the context. For the full review, we'll throw it tomorrow!

On behalf of ethics, we will separate these "potential" spoiler content on separate pages for your sensitive. One for sure? Prepare to thrill Asgard !!!
