Why is this necessary?

It seems like the world just has to jump on the social justice train in every aspect of life. It isn't enough that we are constantly flooded with this sort of thing from all other avenues of life from politics to all films and tv shows but now they are putting it into the fantasy land that is video games as well.

It doesn't affect my life at all, I am aware of that but for some reason this just rubbed me the wrong way because video games for me are an escape from the problems and annoyances that kind of ruin real life.

I do not CARE if my character is a particular race or culture but do we need to make it a focus of a game? Also, how in the hell is God of War celebrating diversity? Is there a big group of oppressed gods out there that people feel are under-represented in gaming?

Although it is not in the picture Uncharted is also celebrating diversity somehow. Maybe this falls into the category of "teams and voice artists" in that maybe there are some LGBT people involved in that in some capacity, not that any of that matters. I would be willing to bet that the jobs at gaming studios are based on whether or not you are actually good at making games, not what your sexual-orientation or race is.

Also, does Japanese fall into the "diversity" category because if so then basically every game is going to be in this section.

Does everything have to have a political or social justice angle to it these days or something? I just want to play videogames man!

I think this might be in light of what has been happening to Facebook and blizzard.

I am not aware of what is happening to Blizzard, tell me what's up with that? I don't care what happens to FB, i'll celebrate any attack on them.

Horrible to say but I have to agree. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.inverse.com/gaming/blizzard-activision-lawsuit-walkout-controversy-explained/amp here is a link if you want to find out more.
