Hi there! welcome back to my old DOS gaming review blog. Here in this blog, i will be updating my article on reviewing old games especially game that was released for MS-DOS Platform. Here, I would not be just reviewing the game, but also try to experience how it feels to play the game. I am reviewing or playing these old games is in order to bring back or just remembering all of those sweet memories that I have in the old days. So, for those of you who never play the game that I reviewed in my article, do not worry, you still be able to play the game now, at the end of my article, i will give you the information on how you can install the game on your current PC or Mac, or if you do not want to do the hard work by installing this game, I will also give you the link so that you can play the game online. This review going to be just information about the game, I will also provide some screenshots in order to see how the game is look like. Then, at the end of this article, I will also give you the information how to play this game on your current computer or where you can play this game if you want to play it online.

Hello everyone, I really hope all of us will have a better health. For today's post, I would like to talk about another old DOS game that could bring back the sweet memories that we have when we were kids. The memories about the games that we play in those beautiful old days. The old game that I am going to talk about today is a game that belong to the genre of shooter video games. I have post a lot of game with this same genre before. If we see in the nowadays market, this kind of shooter game is not so popular compare to the one such as FPS or Real-Time strategy video games. However, although this kind of video game is not popular, there are still many of new game that was released that fit into this genre of video games. Well, Despite the popularity of this game is not as good as another game. I would like to share the experience how it feel to play the video game that was released in the 90s.

The video game that i am going to talk about today called Tyrian. Tyrian is a scrolling shooter game that is similar to sky force. Sky force is the current release game that also fall into shooter game genre. Oke, now, let's focus on the Tyrian video game. This game was release in the year of 1995. How was the game look like and we can see and compare to todays shooter game. The thing that we need to compare here is off course, the gameplay that the game have, not the graphic.

Now, as always, i would like to make the quick reminder about the video game restriction. This video game do not belong to the violence side of video games. So, this video game has no age restriction. with this, this game could be played by a all user without any restriction. Because of this, this game could have more user to play the game. It can be played by kids, teenagers or adults. This game is also very easy to play and have a very good and fun gameplay.

Alright, Now, Let's start talking about this video game. We will start about the history, development, gameplay, game modes and give my opinion on this game at the end of this article.

Now, let's begin by learning a bit about this video game development.

Tyrian is a video game that belong to the scrolling shooter genre computer game. This video game was developed by a company called Eclipse Software. Tyrian video game was published by a different company called Epic MegaGames and was release for MS-DOS and also for Windows platform. This video game was release in the year of 1995. In the year of 2004 and the game was considered old, the company officially release the game as a freeware. So, this video game now available to download for free.

In term of the storyline or the plot of this video game. This video game is set in the year 2031. The player will play the role as a pilot that have a very excellent skill in terraforming environment. The pilot named Trent Hawkins. The mission of the pilot is to scout out a newly terraformed planets that are habitable. The latest mission in work on a planet called Tyrian, that is located near another territory called "Hazudra" that are inhabit by a lizard-like aliens. One day, his best friend is attacked by MicroSol, a giant coorporation that control the Tyrian. They attacked him because he know about a unique material called Gravitium which have the power to control the force of gravity.

MicroSol is obsessed with this unique material in order to power their warships. They want to destroy everyone who now about the existence of this material which make our main character become the number one wanted man.

Gameplay

In term of gameplay, Tyrian is an arcade-style game where the player will play the game in a vertical scrolling-shooter. The player will control a space ship that has been equipped with many weapons. The weapons located at the front and back, linked to the same button, and up to two external pods with their own buttons. There are a variety of enemies that the main character need to destroy in this game. There are some that are flying, fixed or located on rail. There are also a final bos that need to be destroy from each level. In the full game mode, Tyrian has more feature such as equipment-buying system.

Game Modes.

Full Story Mode

The main mode of this video game is the single player mode where the player will play in what called full story mode game. In this mode, there are storyline or plot that are included. When you play in this mode, you will see the messages from each level which mission that the player has to follow. Then, at a certain points in the game, the player will be able to choose what levels they want to play.

Arcade Mode

Another mode that this video game has called Arcade Mode. In this mode, the player will pick up a front guns, rear guns, and a sidekicks when the game is on going. So, the player do not need to purchase them. There are also upgrades that are available for the weapons by picking up the items that are dropped by the enemies that has been destroyed.
