Hallo Steemians! How are all doing today?
Back again with me @zulman with another review of old classic video games that was releases before the year 2000.
The reason that I am reviewing these all old game is that I want to experience what the game is like. I do not play a lot of game when I was a kids. So, with this review, I want to experience those old games now.

As usual, at the end of the article, I will give you all the information about how to play the video game that I am reviewing. Also, i will tell you how to install the game on your current PC or Mac or or if you do not wish the difficulties of installing the game, I will also give you information where you can play the game online without installing it on your computer.

Let's start the review.

Mega Race : A Pre-rendered 3D Graphic Video Game

This review going to be about the information of the game, I will also provide some screenshots in order for you to see how the game is look like. Then, at the end of this article, I will also give you the information how to play this game on your current computer or where you can play this game if you want to play it online.

Alright, let's begin the review of the game.

The video game entitled "Mega Race" is a video game that belong to the genre of Racing video game. This video game was developed by Cryo, a company from Franch that was founded in 1992. Mega Race video game features a pre-rendered 3D graphics. At the beginning of the game, there are almost twenty minutes featuring a full motion video of a fictional game show host. "Check out he picture of the host below ". This game show host named Lance Boyle. This video game was released for MS-DOS platform in 1993. Then, after that, the game also release for the Sega CD and the 3D0 platform in the following year.

In term of the plot of the game, this video game is taking place in the distant future. The player of the game will be in a contestant on one of a game show in that era. The show called "Mega Race". In the game, the Mega Race competition is broadcast around the world through a television channel called Virtual World Broadcast Television. The competition is not the usual racing game, instead it is a live-or-die race match against Hell's angels-like speed gangs. The host of the gameshow called Lance Boyle (played by Christian Erickson) is an eccentric figure, he will guide the player throughout the game, introducing new levels and enemies and also sometime discouraging the player.

With the success of the first game, Mega Race also have two sequels, Mega Race 2 was released in 1996 and then Mega Race 3 that was release in 2001. The first sequel use the same pre-rendered method that was introduce in the original, while for the Mega Race 3, the game already features a full real-time 3-D graphics. Lace Boyle also return in the sequels.

Mega Race also have been reboot by ZOOM platform. This reboot was planned on April 2004. They want to recreate the game trilogy for mobile and tablet devices, also the reboot is coming to PCs and consoles.

Mega Race Gameplay Overview.

Mega Race is a video game that have the gameplay of a Vehicular combat, the gameplay is play with arcade gameplay style that is similar to that of RoadBlasters and Spy Hunter video game. However, this game also considered a rail shooter video game because the player of the game does not have the capabilities to fully control of the car that they play. The player only can move the car from side to side and accelerate within a limited range, but cannot turn or fully stop the car.

The reason for this is because the speedway in the video game is rendered in a full-motion video. The player in this video game is not only have to kill the opponent in front but also need to selectively avoid or run over some symbols that has been marked on the speedway road itself. These symbols could have the capabilities to temporarily improve the performance of the car or temporarily harm the car's performance. You can see these symbols from the picture below(in red circle)

The objective of the video game is to eliminate all the opponents, in this case, the speed-gangs members in each race before the three laps of the race is completed. In the first race, the game will start out with a small number of enemies, but it will add more in each of the subsequent race. In order to kill the enemies, the player can slam them to the sidewall of the track, hitting them with missiles that mounted on the player's car, or just simply passing them. This three method will make the opponent's vehicle to explode. The player need to make the gap is large enough to destroy the opponent's car if the player choose to only pass them.

The weapons, which is the missiles in the game has a limited number for each race. If all the gangs are not killed within the three laps, the player will be lost and must restart the game from the last saved game. Otherwise, the player will move on to the next race. In this video game, there are a total of eight cars available and fourteen speedways across five world. These number is not including two bonus races. In term of the appearance, the tracks also will be differ between each of difficulty levels

What I think about Mega Race video games.

As you already probably know that i love playing racing game, this video game is one of the most fun racing video game to play. The gameplay is very fun and it is really could bring back those sweet time in the old days. The feature that make the player have the capabilities to destroy the opponent vehicles make the gameplay is more interesting. Playing this kind of game is really can make you giggles sometime when you unintentionally remember the time that you have in old days or just simply remember that this kind of game really give you a fun time in the old days.
