Early Winter Garden Railroad Haul

in garden-railroad •  3 years ago

Hello, steemians!

I was looking for something to post here on my page, and I realized that I had not posted the video that I made last December about my garden railroad.

This video shows the last use of my garden railroad last year. There was already a fair amount of snow on the ground when I made the video. I had cleaned off the track with my snowblower a few days before making the video. I wanted to haul a load of paver blocks from the back garden gate up to the greenhouse, so I decided to make a video about that. I needed a few pavers to use for stepping stones inside the greenhouse. The floor in the back of the greenhouse is just gravel, so it gets muddy in the fall and spring.

The railroad is not very long, I don't think it's a hundred feet in total length. It serves as a way to haul heavy stuff like bags of garden soil and other stuff. I could haul that stuff in a wheelbarrow, but where's the fun in that?

My railroad is what's considered to be a minimal gauge railroad, a less than 15 inch gauge railroad that is used to do actual work.

Here's the video, it's about 5 and a half minutes long.

If you would like to see another garden railroad video that I posted to my page here on steemit, here's the link to that post. I posted this about a month ago.

Oh wow I love this idea! So much easier than having to use a wheel barrow!

Great job 🙂
