The garden water storage tank

in garden •  8 years ago

I collect rain water to use for watering my garden instead of having to use the city water when I need to water the garden. I have this storage tank that I fill from the rain collection barrels, I built a platform for it to raise it up about 4 feet off the ground. That way, I can use gravity to water the plants instead of a pump.

I'm in the process of putting fence picket boards around it to protect it from the sun, and to make it look a bit better for the people walking by on the street. Strangely enough, we get what I call "garden tourists" walking by the house when the garden is growing. Anyway, here's the street side of the tank. I've finished the front now, but I haven't taken a picture.

I built an adapter to hook a garden hose to the big valve at the bottom of the tank to use with my irrigation pipe, which I made from 1/2 inch PVC pipe. There's a subject for another post. :-)

That lady got the fungus!! : 0

I thought it looked more like beautiful landscaping I would love this handful in my yard. Are you sure it's all fungus she has in her hand? If not....I'll just have to get out the riding mower and dog to cut it all down.
