Valentinstag

Of course, Valentine's Day is not forgotten here in the blog, so this nice polar bear takes over the job and sends his best regards for this day to all who come in here. I think the bear is doing great: -)

After I had been lost in the zoo yesterday, I was pulled back to the zoo this morning in bright sunshine.

Arriving there, I walked comfortably on almost deserted paths to the polar bear facility. Of course a sleeping Katjuscha, whose back of the head was peering out of the cave entrance, waited for me there, as already suspected. Germany's oldest zoo polar bear preferred to oversleep the day.

On the neighbouring facility of the polar wolves two animal keepers were busy, which of course also called Kragenbar Plato on the plan, who watched attentively what was going on on the annex ; -)

In the Panda Garden it was a bit more animated than in the rest of the zoo, but I decided to visit the tropical house. And there I was able to admire cute offspring, both with the brown capuchins and the Ceylon hat monkeys. The latter new mom, however, had no motivation to be photographed - she marched straight into the back room and so I could only catch a glimpse of the baby; -)

Of course, the elephants weren't on their grounds at this time of year, but that's normal at this time of the year. And so I stopped by the antelope house, greeted Clyde and the giraffes, who were also inside today. The Gerenuk was very interested in his visitors.

Now I visited the Panda Garden after all. Jiao Qing sat relaxed on a bench in his garden and fed his bamboo comfortably in the sunshine. Meng Meng Meng, on the other hand, preferred to stay in her living room, where she hid under her feeding ball and was barely visible - I don't even want to talk about the reflections of the visitor's disc.
