From the Secret Garden in SF (Original Photography) 11 pics

When I lived in San Francisco, in the neighborhood Noe Valley, I discovered a secret garden in back of the flat. I shared the flat with my significant other at the time. When we first moved in, the garden area was covered in weeds and needed plenty of TLC. My ex cleaned up everything spending countless hours making the garden magical in the early mornings and evenings. I helped sporadically after a glass or two of wine. In fact, my ex almost cut down a branch where a hummingbird nest was attached to. I spotted it and yelled. Luckily, that branch wasn’t cut because I noticed in time (thanks to the alcohol I had consumed or the devil’s lettuce that was probably in my system). A hummingbird baby was living in the nest and we watched it grow up. I will post pictures of the hummingbird baby in the nest in another post and a video I took all grown up. This posting is mostly about some of the flowers that were in the garden.

These flowers I really enjoy and they are very photogenic.

I used the blue sky as the background for the picture above.

This above is some type of sage. The hummingbird really loved this plant.

This exotic water flower above grew out of a half wine barrel that was filed with water and transformed to house a goldfish named Stripey. This friendly lady, who managed the shoe store downstairs, would feed it while saying “Stripey, Stripey, here Stripey” mostly every morning. It wasn’t the most pleasant voice but it made you feel comfort and ease knowing she cared so much for Stripey.

These above are pansies. I went to the local drugstore (Walgreens) and bought this little plant egg with seeds inside for dollar. The pansies would flourish during season. They kept growing so well, that we had to replant them numerous times. It was a good investment.

Here’s a sneak picture of the hummingbird baby. I will post more and a video later: So follow me if you are curious to look at them.

Thank you, for taking your time to look at these pictures. I will post more in future postings. I have already posted pictures of tulips that grew in the garden in my previous posting. Feel free to look at those: I’m quite fond of them myself.

I really wish I knew more about the names of these flowers. If you know what some of these are feel free to comment below.

Glad you saved the hummingbird!

Yes, me too. I learned how to mimic the sound the hummingbird would make and I learned how to call it. When I was in the bathroom and looked out the window, I would make the sound and then it would fly back. It was really precious. Sometimes, when we were out in the garden, if another bird flew by or got near it would try to attack the bird. It was very protective. I miss living there.
