There will be my favorite plant exchange market on 4th May at an alternative garden called Prinzessinnengarten in Berlin, Germany. Unfortunately there is not much information online yet ...
https://www.bio-berlin-brandenburg.de/aktuelles/veranstaltungskalender/grosser-pflanzentauschmarkt/
I was at the market as a visitor for the first time in 2015 and instantly I liked the market. Then we had a stand in 2016 and 2017 to promote PlantHub, an online plant exchange platform my boyfriend and his friends are working on. We weren't at the market last year as we were in Albania. The photo on top was taken at our stand in 2016.
Now I wonder I shall have a stand to promote PlantHub again, not only the web based version but also dPlantHub or crypto PlantHub, which I want to start slowly and casually on Steemit. Some of you may know there is a @planthub account with which I would like to facilitate plant and seed exchange on Steemit.
Coming back to the idea to have a stand at the plant exchange market, a stand (3m x 2m) costs 50 Euro. The stand can be a bit big for PlantHub. We are happy to host flyers and business cards of environment friendly plant and gardening related projects in the spare space. No fee. Small amount of tip in SETTM/SBD is welcome though.
In addition to the cost of the stand ...
- our traveling cost to Berlin
- paper cups and envelopes for donation based giveaway plants and seeds
- printing cost for 100-200 flyers
Then total cost will be 100-150 Euro. I wonder I shall use @Fundition for this :)
Excuse me it's still my random thought. I'm happy to receive ideas and opinions. It'll be my homework for this weekend to brush up the plan. The deadline to apply for a stand is 22nd April.
............... I wrote most of this post last night and couldn't sleep well as I was too exited to have a stand. I already started preparing Shiso (the one you find next to Sushi) to share at the stand ;) It's well received in 2016 and 2017.
I wish @PlantHub (or dPlanthub) grows and we enjoy exchanging seeds and plants more. I believe Steemit is a good fit as we have already some money in our wallet and there are a lot gardening fans.
(We got a dried Schwarzkümmel with seeds inside from other participant. It was a smaile maker. I really like the market.)
I think it's a great idea, I'd definitely try that. But you're right, it takes money to go there and prepare the flyers etc.
Perhaps there's a similar event near to you?

Good to have your comment. I calmed down a little bit. I also start searching for events in Leipzig ;) Not plant exchange but some nice gardening and plant related events will be hosted in Spring.
When I started using Steemit, there were posts titled "I do XXX when I achieved 100SBD." I wanted to spend mine for something related to gardening or kids food education. It's more than my budget but promoting planthub and connecting (crypto) gardeners can be a good cause :D

Did you search for an event by some Schrebergarten-Verein or so? That's where I went to in Berlin to get the two tomato plants for my balcony :)
I found this: http://www.leipziggruen.de/de/2016_Pflanzenmarkt.asp - and I saw you have the Deutsches Kleingärtnermuseum in Leipzig. Perhaps if that has a "friends of the museum" association, perhaps they might be interested to hear about PlantHub.

Thank you a lot for your help @muscara! Yes Leipzig is the city where Kleingarten started :) But I didn't know the museum. I must visit once!

This sounds like a good idea and the market sounds fun (you could do a post for #marketfriday)! It would be good for dplanthub to encourage local plant exchanges. We have one at the Botanic Garden each year, and perhaps they could grow - like farmer's markets!

Hard to say but it's really a nice market. I also think encouraging local plant exchanges is important. I wish to have an event or more in Leipzig but couldn't find so far. I'll ask my boyfriend to search for it a bit more detail in German language.
Botanical Garden is a nice meeting point. We have plant markets but its more for professionals to sell seedlings ... and yes Berlin has a good market in Botanical Garden ... Everything is in Berlin!
