The nutmeg tree continues to produce until the age of 50-70 years. The nutmeg can be harvested after it is old, which is about 5-7 months. It is characterized by the color of yellow brownish fruit, where some fruit has begun to divide through the groove, the shell of the shell is dark brown to black and shiny, the color of the red . But there are also some white, some of which come from Tidore.

Fruit that has begun to split should be harvested immediately if left in the tree for 3 days, fruit division becomes perfect (fruit split in two) so that the seed will fall to the ground. In addition, if the rain fall the fruit will rot.
