We are busy harvesting and processing food for winter.
We buy local corn and freeze it.It's easier than fighting the raccoons for it. IMG_1667.JPG
My wife Kathy I had been busy canning apple sauce and making apple jelly. We are also going to can some juice .

The fall plantings have been a mixed bag. As I mentioned before the bunnies got my green beans . I have a few peas coming up but they are not far enough along to make it before the real cold hits . Cilantro is looking good Onions are looking great . Garlic has started coming up. But no lettuce? Not sure if the bunnies got it or what .

20 pounds of cucumbers per week? How big is your garden? :D And how do you

Hi I have about 48 sf of cucumber patch is all. I use the square foot garden method and have 2 patches 1 4x4 and one 4x6 its amazing what you can harvest from such a small area!

I like very much your garden is more beautiful every day! I'm glad you have such a beautiful garden with so tasty fruits

Thank you! i do enjoy the fruits of my labor

I would be so happy if I had a garden like you because I like to cook healthy food! 🥕🥒

start small even in an apartment you can grow lettuce radishes tomatoes and more.

Nice pile of cucumbers. Ready for the fresh salad. 👍
I skipped them this year and concentrated on tomatoes.

My tomatoes are struggling this year but I will get a few before winter hits,

If you don't mind me asking, where do you reside? I live in California and I'm starting a garden. I don't have a green thumb. I am trying to compile a list of veggies that grow here. I tried to grow corn (first time) and it was a big fail.

Hi, I live in South Dakota. I used to live in socal. grew tomatoes quite well out there . Cucumbers, lettuce, all grow pretty good any time. I used to plant peas three times a year they did best over the winter.I think you would want to start corn pretty early if you are south.

Thanks for the advice. I did get lettuce to go okay but not like the heads they sell at the store. I agree with your point on planting earlier because when summer comes the heat is unbearable. SDak is nice, from what I saw of it. I set out to visit Mt Rushmore but I never made it due to car problems.

Thanks I mostly grow leaf lettuce too. The black hills is some amazing country. our winter can get a little rough sometimes

I grew up where we got four seasons and I sometimes miss the cold winters, especially during the summer. Have a nice day.

I lived in southern Cal for 10 years loved the weather there but really appreciated the seasons when i moved back Fall is my favorite.

Yeah, one day I hope to wise up and move. See it only took you 10 years to wise up. Just kidding. This heat during the summer makes me wacky.

This is really great!

Thanks glad you enjoyed

Welcome!

Looks good. How do your brussel sprouts do? I usually have problems.

Go away bunnies! Cucumbers look amazing!

thanks. this is my first time with the brussel sprouts. so far so good.

that must be relaxing, cool
