Last week husband @bobydimitrov made a new sieve for our compost, using some leftover metal sheet with holes from a business project and scrap wood.
It's not large but if the compost is dry, one person can easily work with the sieve. In fact working in turns, we managed to sieve 4 buckets full of compost in less than 15 minutes.
Each bucket is 30 liters and the resulting compost was 90 liters. So about 30 liters was larger pieces and bits which we use to mulch or top dress as hubby calls it our asparagus and fruit bushes.
The photo shows the sieved compost and some of the bucket and sieve. This compost is great stuff! Full of live! We use it in our soil mix for growing vegetable seedlings.
Suddenly our half a cubic meter of done compost seems very small amount!
