Finally some snow!

in gardening •  5 years ago

After a very dry January, with no rain and just a dusting of snow, we finally got some 25 cm of snow! Along with low nighttime temperature, like -8 the other day and -11C today, it's good to feel some winter weather. I'm glad the trees did not start developing.

Kale still shrugs cold weather and we're still picking leaves to dry and grind and use as condiment.

And the vegetables beds are nicely tucked in 😊

Our Kale is still going well, and the Chard. And found some radishes as well today. But we don't have any snow yet.

Chard stops here and dies back at about -5 sustained. You've had a warm winter, I take it?

Glad your trees did not break dormancy. They did here and we had 17 F last night...

Oh no ☹️ how far were they, is there any damage?

The sap had begun to run for sugaring and we saw a LOT of trees with red buds swelling. Not heard yet of damage, too soon I think.
