Planting orchids in a wood

in gardening •  8 years ago  (edited)

orchid flowers are unrivalled in the plant world, Most cultivated orchids are native to the tropics. In their natural habitat, they attach themselves to the bark of trees, or the surface of other plants. So today steemit i will plant orchids in a wood branches with my cute little kids..

You don’t need to chop down a tree branch to create an orchid mount, you can plant them wether the tree is still living. I used a dead branch of the tree on this articles.

Coco husk fiber plaques Holds some moisture but not too much attractive natural bronze color thats why i choose coconut husk to plant orchids there.

I choose the type of orchids where it can survive in tropical areas and hot temperature.

Pack the coconut husk around the orchid’s roots. This reduces transplant shock while the orchid gets established on the mount..

wrapped the orchids root ball to the mount, twist ties, or another non-biodegradable string. It’s important that the string remain intact while the roots find a purchase on the mount.

Caring for a mounted orchid isn’t much different from caring a potted orchids at home.

After a few months of planting the orchids into this coconut husk. The roots started to grove.

Place the orchids plant on the wood where it can grown.

Ideal for mounts that are kept primarily outdoors as the wood resists decay in humid environment

And now the orchids are finished of planting lets test if this plnt can survive  after a 1 week and i will update you guys.

I place my orchids in our balcont with not that hot temperature but its normal. I hope that it will grow. Beacause i love its flowers very much. And thats all folks if you want more of episodes please hit the upvote botton and follow me. Thnks.
