A very spiky visit to NEW SOUTH WALES with BEAUTIFUL CACTUS Trichocereus 'Nothink'

in gardening •  7 years ago  (edited)

Morning steemers,
Just got back from a visit to a random nursery in New South Wales and couldnt help but snap theses apparently rare and incredibly beautiful cactaceae specimens.

Trichocerueus 'Nothink' from the top, there is a bit of a debate as to the exact species of these.
Some say pachanoi some say peruvianus and others say it may be a hybrid between the two.

Whatever the exact species may be these cacti are stunning in real life. It was hard to show the size in a picture as they were about 15ft tall and the weather was really overcast, but I am sure you can imagine the presence they have!

Can you believe these are both from the same plant?? Just tiny "Pups" in comparison to the main leader of the plant.

A close up of the spine arrangement.

Now I usually dont blink an eye to cacti but for some reason these guys had a real presence about them, not to mention they were fucking huge!!! :-)
Hope you enjoyed this spiky story steemers.

Happy gardening,
Sam.

Those were brilliant pictures. I could suggest though you add the camera settings info to give it that extra pro-feels and sorta stamps your authority as owner of the images. This is a far improvement from your other "macro" photographs. Just curious, how did you light that first photograph?

The camera "settings" are just the auto settings on my camera. thanks for the feed back :-)

Oh! Good to know. But even that has the camera settings embedded on the image metadata. Lovely images still.

Cheers again for the feedback :-)
Im more about the plants than the photos to be honest, I have zero idea about photography :-)

I see that already. I came here through curating the "macro-photography" tag. And this was among the closest to original, actual macro-photography post, among the junk, plagiarized, stuff posted under wrong tags. Quite the Steemit experience. It was an awesome serendipity though. Haha

ok ;-/

Good 2 see other cacti enthusiasts in Australia .

A Trichocerueus is always a good addition to any garden,

mind if i ask what's your favorite plant in the garden?

I agree @phytogenesis!!!
My favourite plant varies from day to day sometimes its Phaleria or Brugmansia others its a simple Tomato plant or some Borage....
Whats your favourite?

I understand what you mean when you say it varies from day 2 day, currently this Sarracenia Pitcher ive been growing for a few years is my fav.
