Bench Ideas For Your Garden

in gardening •  8 years ago

Creating my own little private hideaway in my garden has always been on my priority list. I decided this past month to take a look at other peoples gardens to see what I would like most in my own little oasis.

This combination of a Gazebo with the wooden bench and pond with fountains on both sides, is one of my favorites. Can you imagine sitting on this bench with your loved one, listening to the symphony of crickets and frogs during a summer night?

I must admit that I still prefer my wood especially in its natural form used in these two benches. They are ideal for a huge garden and a big family like mine which enjoy visiting outside.

This wooden bench with its arched top looks quite beautiful between the plants in the garden. The ideal spot to relax with a book.

For a Victorian look, you can use cast iron which is quite durable if you maintain it correctly. Perfect place to have your cup of tea and chat with your best friend.

Ideal little hideaway between the green ferns and palms. Here you will have no problem to meditate, enjoy quiet time and connect with nature.

For me the perfect setting is a bench close to water. There is nothing more soothing, uplifting and healing than the sound of water. This combination of a pond, bridge and bench is my all time favorite.

Using concrete garden furniture right in the middle of your garden with a bridge leading to it can create quite a tranquil picture.

The two in most natural forms are very nice.

Hello Ace108, good to see you. I agree with you, nothing more beautiful than polished wood in its natural shape.

it looks like palace

Jip, chl. Some people are blessed to have such huge gardens to leisure around in.

I'm actually in the market for a bistro set like in your victorian example.

They are truly beautiful in the right setting. Hope you will find the perfect one for your spot.

Cool garden! I wish I can have one some day.

Oh linuslee0216, make it a goal to work towards, then your wish will oneday come true. I truly hope you will have a beautiful garden.

Inspiring idea! Thanks for your sharing, would try to design little one ;)

Thank you kitcat. Good luck and please post your final creation.

Wow those are beautiful and the pictures are fantastic. The first one is the one I'd love the most, but the second and third ones with the big wooden benches are gorgeous too, just not how comfortable they'd be. They look great though.

All of them are lovely and I'd be happy to have any of them, of course mine would all need to have bug netting surrounding it to be able to enjoy them to the fullest or I'd get eaten alive by the mosquitoes, black flies, no seeums and horse flies.

Thanks for sharing. :D

Thank you for your reply frostyamber. You need to burn a repellent candle or two around your bench to keep your zoo of insects away. You can place some bench cushions on those big solid wooden ones to make it more cumfy.

That is very true, although even the repellent candles hide are afraid of the black flies out here, you can see them in clouds almost here because there are so many at times, not every day, thankfully, but a some days you don't want to leave the house or you'll get munched on and come back in with welts every where.

I think a few big, colorful cushions would really make those benches so comfy and even more awesome. :D

Beautiful, I like the wooden benches with natural shapes the most.

Thank You for the pictures! They give me ideas for my own backyard.

I would love to see your end result mcash. Have fun while creating it.
