When I was younger, I had this "dream" of being a farmer but this was short lived and I ended up doing a host of other things. I moved to the UK from South Africa and started growing vegetables at home.
I soon realised that this was something I really enjoyed doing. I stumbled upon a guy called Curtis Stone who was an urban farmer in Canada and his video's were incredibly inspiring. He is farming in peoples back yards in Canada and making a really good living.
At this point, things sort of fell into place and I knew that this is what I wanted to do! Be an urban farmer.
Now, the context in the UK is slightly different, so maybe I won't be growing vegetables in the small gardens of the residents of Cheltenham, where I live, but I could certainly start working towards honing my skills, experimenting and learning.
This is my journey of how I get to my dream job. Starting off with a small allotment to hopefully, growing and selling vegetables full time.
I hope you enjoy following me!
