Hi Steemers! I’m Ed, and even though I’ve only recently discovered this diverse, informative community, I have to say that I’m excited to share!

Preface

I am hoping to bring a little something different to the Steemit table. I don’t write about sports, tech, popular culture, or travel like many of you; I mainly write about gardening and holistic wellness. To be a bit more precise, I mainly write about growing healthy food and medicinal herbs, and how they can be used to improve your overall wellness.

In the blogs to follow, we will discover (sometimes together) new ways of using foods and herbs, new recipes and tips for more healthy productive harvests. We will also talk about many of the medicinal benefits of certain herbs and how to extract their wellness qualities, as well as understanding precautions when they exist.

Eden House, the blog, is named after my new greenhouse, which was constructed over the winter of 2018-2019.

After years of struggling to grow certain things or being at the mercy of the sometimes brutal winters in growing zone 5b, I decided to give it a go. Since it is new this growing season, we will experience it together as I use my engineering skills to get to a point where I can be growing year-round while keeping it green… Solar and wind powered with 12V DC components, with no significant reliance on electric, gas or wood-fueled heaters and using LED predominantly lighting. Hope we both learn a great deal from the journey!

I currently work as an firmware test engineer, and have over 20 years of experience in industrial automation.

I obtained my ISA-CAP (Industrial Society of Automation-Certified Automation Professional) certification in 2008.

I’m excited about retirement in a couple of years so I can devote much more time to growing trees and plants, which gives me almost as much enjoyment as playing music (I play drums and guitar.)
