Im listening now about halfway through now... I love your energy and solid advice so far... Does carrots really love tomatos? A issue we are having in year 2 of our notill soil regimen is when we use a cover crop(green legumes like clover) diverse or not (like buildasoil's 12 seed cover crop mix) we get gnats that show up. I half think its because our soil is compact and certian beneficals like the hyposismiles mites( spell check) disappear with when it gets 110°+ in this dessert. I love your energy! What if we read 2 informative steemit posts like yours or @rawutah's a day😜

@dynamicgreentk thanks brother! Lol, yup they are actually great companions with one another.
When are you getting the gnats? When our seeding?
I appreciate the encouraging words.

here's his backyard bro. he just put down more chips...as a layer. but more chips? the ol' equalizer...those chips are.

ps---- you rock bro @dynamicgreentk !!! bros!!!!

Well, when we would have the ground completely cover in clover essentially. Last year in year one with really compact soil we had crazy flies and gnats. But none this year really but we didnt have a thick ground cover like last year.

i'm amazed you get those ladies to thrive in that compact nevada soil!!! blown away you've got them in the ground and not containers. soooo cool! a testament...to the ferment teas, cover crops... and build a soil...amendments. i grow in a hybrid way like you. i dump alfalfa meal...shrimp meal...and other goodies...all around my food forest. i just pull back the chips...and dump little deposits of goodies. pretty sure james...just uses chips...and let's the balance occur over time. check this video out:

those gnats...and other critters come in...to perhaps... take care of some imbalance...in the ecosystem..in your backyard as a whole. maybe because...it's the main green to eat...and decompose...other than the canny ladies? i don't know....but i feel the more chips you add will help big time in slowly bringing in worms...and de compacting that hard soil of LV. ph balanced! i have little patches of clover all around the forest...but immense amount of chips too. critters come and go...in so many waves lol. if i had your backyard...i'd cover the whole damn yard...from wall to wall..with chips lol...and still use all your amendments...and sprays. hybrid food forestry. cheers bros...it's just fun....throwin darts with ya'll!

i just love what you're doing there in NV. bro. it's would be sweet to get the build a soil dude...on steemit! ;)

so did the clover just grow UP...and create a nice dense mat of ground cover? one way..i've created a soil skin layer...while growing clover of other ground covers...is to lightly coat/shake straw...into the growing clover mat....and it grows. this slowly creates a bed of straw that the clover is growing ...through. this added layer...of protection from the sun...allows for more critters that eat gnats...to create a home. straw is just so bad ass...for short term soil/skin layers.

i use white dutch clover. not sure what one is in your mix. this variety grows much shorter stalks. makes nice thick mulch layer....meshed with that straw layer i described. not too tall like other clovers. gosh...bro..i looked like heaven in there. so much love in that grow! felt!
