The Creeper & The Climber - Gardeningchef

Hello Steemers!!

As many of you may know, this is my first year of real, hands on gardening. I have shown you my vegetables and now I finally have something new to show... FRUIT!

First off, the creeper: watermelons! They have been slow to form but over the last fortnight I have finally seen real progress. One tiny fruit seems to be forming and just this afternoon I spotted a new flower. 2/3 of the plants have already crept their way out of the box and now drape over it beautifully.

Now for the climber: grapes!! There were a few grape vines around the garden but they had never produced a good bunch of grapes... until now! I have two bunches so far. They are looking bright and juicy and I intend to keep them that way by watering them on a regular basis and will soon give them some plant food too, to help boost their growth further.

I look forward to sharing more of them as they develop. It's really exciting to think I'll be eating my own homegrown fruit very soon!

Your garden is growing! So exciting! I can't wait to see those watermelons grow! And for the grapes, we were having them in the garden since I can remember and they are so much better than the store bought ones.

Looking forward to next updates! 😊

I am hoping to see many watermelons grow!!! I love them. I never would have thought I could grow them and now here I am. Fun stuff! Lucky you having grapes to eat from your garden, I look forward to seeing how delicious these ones turn out. I am sure they will beat the shop bought ones hands down :D

Thanks so much for your lovely comment @delishtreats, more updates will be coming soon!

The melon plants look beautiful. That’s so cool the way they hang down the boxes like that. So pretty. The grapes look like you will be getting a bumper harvest. Fascinating to see them in their embryonic form like this. I am so looking forward to your updates as the garden progresses each month. I think this is a prefect steemit project you have untaken as well as an inspirational gardening project. Good luck with all your gardening endevours and keep us all informed here on steemit. Beautiful quality photos as always too Resteemed and upvoted👏👏👏👏

Very pretty indeed! I did wonder if the plants would be OK like that but as long as they don't get waterlogged on the ground I think they should be fine. They are usually grown on level ground by what I've been told so it will be interesting to see what my plants do with all this gravity to play with!

I hadn't had the chance to see grapes in their growing stages until now so I too find it fascinating to see what they look like. I must make sure I take the best care of them until they are ripe for the picking!

Thank you very much for your support and considered feedback @sallybeth23, I am glad you are enjoying my gardening posts! Running this blog is making this first year of growing really fun and inspiring for me as I am meeting and chatting to other gardeners, even some who are just starting out like I am. It's great to see such dedication to gardening and it pushes me to work harder on mine!!
