We love plants! We love health! We love plants that promote health!

We love to share sustainable options for wellness, and plants are one of the most accessible resources we know for activating full thrival. Our Wildcrafted Medicine blogs highlight the impressive properties of plants that can be utilized to encourage your ultimate health.

Aloe vera is one of those incredible plants that many people are familiar with. It's filled with a gel that soothes cuts and scrapes, and lots of people slather themselves with it after sunburns. It is also great for internal use; aloe can calm the digestive system. Try adding some of the gel to smoothies! Go for some, but not too much - it is said that excessive amounts can cause stomach cramping, but we've never eaten enough to experience that.

It grows really well indoors in a sunny spot with a big enough pot and doesn't need much attention to thrive. It is one of the houseplants that cleanses air especially well, according to a NASA study which is another great reason to keep one in your space.

Here are more facts on the incredible healing properties of ALOE VERA:

My mom used to swear by this stuff... she would cut off a piece and rub it on our sunburns any time we got one when we were little.

Your mom was on it!! Aloe is great stuff - it's so low maintenance yet is so valuable for common ailments like sunburns.

I love Aloe vera, we are lucky to have that plant everywhere in Panama. Cheers @gardenofeden ;)

I remember a time I went to go visit my grandfather in Austria. He noticed some acne on my face so he cut off a part of the plant and told me to rub this over it. I did notice a difference after a couple days. Nature is the best medicine!

Agreed! And a plant like aloe vera is not only effective, but very gentle as well. Thanks for sharing your experience, @truexpression!
