Makes me wish I had a moist spot here....But alas, we are sandy loam and the moist lasts just a few hours...

    yes! i hear ya. we grew ours in not-a-perfect spot for it and it did okay considering. i read that it likes sandy soil- grows a lot of tubers per plant that way. i think i'll put it in a greywater run off this next year and see how it does with even more water. it can take some drought.
